Soundcaster are sorry to announce that Fran has left the band with a heavy heart for personal reasons,
we all thank him for his contribution to Soundcasters with superb bass playing and harmony vocals which has helped make the band what it is today.
Phil has agreed to play bass which he did in a previous line up of the band so from now Soundcasters will be a four piece band instead of a five piece, we are confident that the band will still offer the same level of entertainment with strong vocal harmonies and superb music.
12th August 2017.
Soundcasters are please to welcome back original Lead Vocalist Phill Cooper after Gerry announced he was leaving the band, we are sorry to lose Gerry and we all thank him for the hard work he put into learning and performing our set and wish him all the best for the future.

Soundcasters are pleased to announce we have a new lead vocalist Gerry Cullen from the Green Mount area of Bury. Gerry is very experienced and like the rest of the band performed the music we still play and love when it was current in the 60s & 70s. We were really sorry to loose Phil from the band but with his other commitments it just wasn't possible for him to continue performing with us on a regular basis. All the band wish Phil all the best for the future. Gerry has worked really hard to learn our set and he stepped in for the final few gigs of 2016, we are now busy putting together lots of new material with Gerry which will hopefully be well received by anybody who follows Soundcasters in 2017.
On a sad note we were all sorry to hear about the death of former Soundcasters frontman Jeff Alderson. Jeff had to leave the band after becoming unwell and unfortunatly never returned to full health before he sadly died in December last year, Jeff will be missed but fondly remembered by all the band most who had known him from the early 60s, we knicknamed Jeff 'The Oracle' because of his vast knowledge of 60s pop trivia. RIP.
The Souncasters have just spent 2 days at Berlin Recording Studio in Blackpool to record an album of their most popular songs from they perform at their gigs as well as at least one original number. Time went fast whilst recording so more days were booked for April in order to record enough songs to put on to a CD which will be for sale at gigs when completed, meanwhile check out the Gallery Berlin Studio page to see photo's of the band taken at the recording sessions.
Soundcasters have just booked some studio time for early March at Berlin Recording Studios, Blackpool.
The new professionally recorded tracks will be posted on the music page on this web site soon.
Our most recent member Geoff Alderson has been unwell for a few months now and after a major operation is at present not with the band. Whether he will be fit to rejoin after his recuperation we are unsure.
In the meantime Tony asked brother Phil to step in and help out, and it is now quite certain that he will be back where he belongs as a permanent member of the Soundcasters. As both brothers have been singing together nearly all their lives, it wasn't difficult for him settle in and after having a break, he is now enjoying life 'back on the road'. So if you haven't seen Soundcasters recently check out our gig guide and come and see us. - We think you will enjoy the experience.
It's now just over 50 years since the Soundcasters were formed in 1964 and to mark this period in time the band are playing many of the pubs and clubs in the Accrington area this year .
They would love to see anybody who remembers them from the past and also those who haven't yet seen them. Come along to any of the venues and enjoy a great night of nostalgia.
See the 'Gig Guide' page for details of dates and venues.
Soundcasters will be back at Globe Bowling Club in Accrington on Saturday evening 27th June and at Broadwater Hall (formally Bacup Hub) on Sunday 28th June for a 5.00pm start as part of the Bacup & Stacksteads Carnival entertainment.
Check back here regularly to find out what's going on with Soundcasters.
